Meet Chick 'N Butts BBQ

Chris Disterdick

Chris is one of the founders and the Pitmaster on the Chick 'N Butts BBQ Team.  In early 2012, he and his dad starting planning CNB.  With numerous videos watched, reading message boards and books, Chris is constantly  seeking new ways to create the wow factor in bbq.  "You know contest judges take one bite when judging your bbq.  You have to win 6 judges with a single bite.  You want to make them think, man, I want the whole tray!  If we win our table, we have a good chance of breaking into the top 5 and maybe top 3.  Competition bbq isn't anything you will find in a local bbq joint.  It doesn't even come close!!"   

 

Phil Disterdick

​​The other founding father of Chick 'N Butts BBQ.   He used to talk all the time on how cool it would be to hear our name called at Memphis in May.  Sadly, in April 2013, CNB lost one of our founders.  We will carry his dream and go cook at Memphis in May World BBQ Championships.  We know that he is watching down on us because his chicken recipe is what we still use to this day and it keeps getting us call after call.  We miss and love you dad!!!! 

Mindi Disterdick

​​Mindi is Chris' sister and Phil's daughter.  We consider Mindi to be the runner.  Anything we need done whether it be clean this, go ask this or whatever the team needs she does.  Mindi is our food runner probably because she is the youngest and is in better shape than the rest of us.  She hasn't dropped a box as of yet so keep your fingers crossed!!!!

Alan Moix

Alan joined CNB in 2013.  He is picking up on the art of cooking bbq really fast.  Maybe he is trying to take over the Pitmaster spot. (Not!) "As we compete in more and more contests, I'm learning more everytime we go somewhere.  After heading up our spin off team Here Piggy Piggy at Brickfest last year with Mindi and us winning 3rd place in ribs, really lit a fire under me to want to do even better.  I really enjoy not only the contests but being able to meet new friends as well as hanging out with a lot of our old friends!"

Everette Norwood

Everette also joined CNB in 2013.  Right off the bat Everette took off with our pre-planning of our catering part of the team as well as his expertise with our promotional items.  "I've found that it doesn't matter how phenomenal your granddads bbq is...or how spot-on you think your chicken is...folks in the competitive circuit have spent years and even decades perfecting each aspect of barbequeing.  So when you get a "call" or a win here, you've done something amazing that day.  Next week the exact same recipe may not warrant a Top 10, but that's the fun part.  Plus it is an opportunity to hang out with good friends and new ones."

Richard Katchur

Richard was recently added to the team in May 2018.  Bio to follow....
